Ingredients Required to make Maryland Crab Cakes
- 1 lb jumbo lump Maryland crab meat
- 2 tablespoons chives, minced
- 5 tablespoons light mayo
- salt to taste
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 4 teaspoons honey dijon mustard
- Old Bay seasoning to taste
- 1/3 cup Panko breadcrumbs
Maryland Crab Cakes Cooking Directions
Start by taking out a medium-sized bowl to hold the crab cake mixture. Combine the crab meat, honey dijon mustard, mayo, salt, pepper, Panko breadcrumbs , and minced chives into the bowl. Gently mix the ingredients together with your hands. Add a bit of Old Bay seasoning to the mixture to provide a classic Maryland flavor to the crab cakes!
Cover a baking pan with aluminum foil to prepare for broiling. Note that you can choose to either cook your crab cakes in the oven or on a frying pan. We tend to share fried crab cakes recipes on our blog so we decided to include the option of broiling your crab cakes in today’s post.
Use your hands to shape 6 crab cakes from the mixture. Place the crab cake patties on the foil-covered pan, distributing them evenly across the surface. Insert the pan into the broiler for about 5-10 minutes or until the crab cakes are golden brown in color.
Last but not least, serve and enjoy the deliciousness of Maryland crab cakes with friends and family!
