Creative Crab Cakes
If you haven’t been able to tell, we’re kind of a big crab cake deal. We love our crab cakes and so do our customers, they’re our #1 best seller!
We perfected our crab cake mix years ago, following our award winning recipe, to the ’t’, every day. Yet, every now and again, we get a crab cake craving for something a little different. And, when those cravings hit, we get creative.
So, in this article, we’ll be sharing some of our wild and crazy (and delicious) crab cake recipes. Our creative crab cakes are not complicated, we simply throw in a few additions to our existing mix and voilà, something tasty and new!
Before we proceed be sure to stock up on our crab cake mix! These crab cakes are truly amazing…made fresh every morning and with fresh Maryland jumbo lump crab meat. Each of these combinations uses 8oz of our crab cake mix.
Spicy Tex-Mex
A little bit of smoky chipotle peppers, cilantro, corn, and beans transform these crab cakes into a fiesta!
- 2 teaspoons chipotle peppers in adobo, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh cilantro, chopped
- 1/4 cup corn kernels
- 1/4 cup canned black beans
Place these ingredients, along with your Cameron’s Seafood crab cake mix, in a large bowl. Gently toss the ingredients together until combined and cook following the instructions on the package.
Mango Masala
In this recipe, a little sweet-tart mango and fragrant garam masala are a delicious addition to these crab cakes. We love serving these as appetizers too!
- 1/4 cup fresh mango, chopped
- 2 teaspoons garam masala
- 2 tablespoons fresh scallions, chopped
Place these ingredients, along with your Cameron’s Seafood crab cake mix, in a large bowl. Gently toss the ingredients together until combined and cook following the instructions on the package.
Horseradish-Chive
A few classic seafood seasoning ingredients, horseradish and chives, give our crab cakes a kick!
- 2 teaspoons prepared horseradish
- 1 tablespoon fresh chives, chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon lemon zest
Place these ingredients, along with your Cameron’s Seafood crab cake mix, in a large bowl. Gently toss the ingredients together until combined and cook following the instructions on the package.
Crabby Cajun
We took inspiration from all the delicious Louisiana flavors, a little remoulade-like seasoning for this creative crab cake.
- 1 teaspoon cajun seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon fresh garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup roasted red peppers, chopped
- 1 tablespoon dill pickles, chopped
Place these ingredients, along with your Cameron’s Seafood crab cake mix, in a large bowl. Gently toss the ingredients together until combined and cook following the instructions on the package.
Wasabi Ginger
A little sushi bar inspiration for these easy crab cakes…
- 1 teaspoon wasabi paste
- 1 teaspoon pickled ginger, minced
- 1 teaspoon sesame seeds
- 1/2 teaspoon fresh garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons fresh scallions, chopped
Place these ingredients, along with your Cameron’s Seafood crab cake mix, in a large bowl. Gently toss the ingredients together until combined and cook following the instructions on the package.
Sicilian Style
We saved our favorite easy creative crab cake for last, we serve these when we want to elevate spaghetti night.
- 1 tablespoon grated parmesan
- 1 tablespoon fresh basil, chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon fresh garlic, minced
- 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
- 1 teaspoon lemon zest
Place these ingredients, along with your Cameron’s Seafood crab cake mix, in a large bowl. Gently toss the ingredients together until combined and cook following the instructions on the package.
